One is placed this piece on the back of the plug module, it cannot be disassembled!!! If you place it on a wall and for any circumstance you need to disassemble the system, it can't be done!! If this is so, it is an important design failure!!! Ikea had the option of a wall kit!! There isn't it here!!! How to improve? You already know it.
I ordered the "Smart Schuko Starter Kit" twice. It was delivered from Sweden within a few days with free shipping (since the order exceeded €100). A 20% discount was applied for the first order. So far, everything is great!
Unfortunately (!), the F1 smart module operates using Matter over Wi-Fi rather than Thread—something I had really hoped for! Standby power consumption is 0.8 watts. That’s not an ideal figure, and the unit warms up slightly even when switched off. (For comparison: the Ikea Zigbee version has a standby consumption of 0.2 watts.)
The F2 USB-C module delivers 30 watts via PD, though unfortunately only on one port; it is best to leave the second port unused. Standby consumption when unloaded is negligible—under 0.02 watts. Consequently, it is better not to control it via the smart switch unless you want to avoid trickle charging.
I use a lot of Ikea Åskväder modules, so I’m glad these modules are now available. The concept is brilliant. I’m hoping for Thread support and the "half-size" modules shown in the images in the future!
I got myself two chargers so I could expand my two existing Askvader installations at home. Easy as pie and now fam and friends can have fast charging too at my place without fumbling with cumbersome adapters 😎
What I like most is the flexibility. Instead of dealing with bulky power strips and fixed sockets, I placed outlets exactly where I need them. The modular idea is simple, but extremely useful!
This is an important part of the system, as more and more power supplies are based on USB-C. However as the main purpose is to reduce the amount of space for housing power supplies this module shouöd have 4 outlets with more overall power.
I have some power supplies which are very bulky, like the stuff from Hue. This is why I need to provide some distance to the other plugs . However the minimum length of an extesnsion cord is too long and long cables need more space. So there is a stromg need to have extensions cords with 10 to 15 cm and ideally a kind of adapter from which you can branch-off several short extensions to manage bulky power supplies at minimum space.
Edit: Meanwhile I received a replacement, which seems to work fine! Thank you!
The F1 Moduel is not working. There is still power even if I turn it off, doesn't matter if I use the button on the part itself or I try to turn it off using Home Assistant via Matter. Still there is electricity. I tried contacting the support several times, but my complaint has been ignored till this day. Funny enough I received like 20 mails asking to rate my order, so here you go...
Klare Kaufempfehlung! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Over the past few weeks, I have ordered several of these circuit breakers and connected them to their sockets and cables. Unfortunately, they are not working. All the appliances are still receiving power, even though the circuit breakers are switched off.
Those devices are not Zigbee like the originals. I need to maintain an ecosystem of trashy applications to keep then running…. Edit: it’s easier with home automation. And it includes new features like power consumption measure (not in the original), so I changed review .Delivery is super fast,
I bought four of these modules on August 21, 2026. Delivery was very fast, but... Having already been disappointed by the IKEA Zigbee modules, I had hoped these new ones would be of better quality. I was disappointed again; two of the four modules were defective upon delivery. What is additionally disappointing is that support has not replied to three emails so far (twice via the contact page and once to the general info email address). Yet, I receive far too many promotional emails. I hope support gets in touch, at least after this review.
Åskväder 704.638.79 er jo milevis over i kvalitet/stabilitet.
I loved this system when I first saw it in IKEA. I was confused and sad when I saw it wasn't available there anymore, and am very happy to see it's still available!
Disappointed that it no longer supports Zigbee for easy adding into Philips Hue. Due to only having Matter I needed to do all kinds of hacks to get it to “work” with my Hue system by creating an Apple Home as a Matter Hub and then triggering automations when using my Hue Tap dial wheel…
Litt dyrt, men virket fint.
